Make sure that use the lens cap when you're not using your camera.
The body of your camera should also be kept clean. Clean the outside of your camera by wiping it with a clean, dry cloth or soft camel's hair brush. Never open your camera’s casing or attempt to repair the camera yourself. Touching the inside of a digital camera can result in electrical shock. Contact an authorized HP Service Center for repairs. If your camera has a LCD, breath on it gently to create some moisture, then wipe it with a soft, lint-free cloth or untreated photographic lens tissue.
The greatest enemy of digital camera is the erosion of water. Exposing your camera to moisture can cause it to malfunction. Never store or use it in humid, dusty or dirty places. If you really need do so, what you need is a plain, old plastic bag. Just make a hole where the lens can poke out, and cover the lens with a rubber band. If water has gotten inside, turn it off immediately. Remove the batteries and memory card, and allow the camera to air-dry for 24 hours before operating it again.
